Update on You Died stock levels

Simulated-leather edition of You Died

We've had a number of Soul Arts backers reach out to us over the past week to inquire if there might be any additional copies of the simulated-leather edition of You Died available at any point.

The stock in our warehouses is gone but we have 27 office copies (mint condition in the shrink wrap) that we have located and added to the T&F website. When this small first-run batch is gone, they're gone. At least until we reprint at a future date (TBD), which we would like to do.

For context, we only produced 250 copies of the simulated-leather edition after the original Kickstarter campaign ended in late 2019. It wasn't even an official Kickstarter reward. We had created a genuine-leather version of the book to go with the Gravelord Servant edition and had the last-minute inspiration to make a variant available for folks in our audience who appreciated the durability of leather but preferred an alternative without animal products used in its manufacture.

Way of White prestige edition of You Died

Stock levels of the cloth editions are in a slightly healthier spot, however we didn't order a huge amount of spare supply after the first Kickstarter ended. Tune & Fairweather was just getting off the ground and we were nervous about locking up vital operating capital in a large print run (learn to crawl before we try to walk/run/skydive, etc).

Of these first-edition hardcover copies, we have approximately 1,400 black cloth left and a little over 600 Way of White copies. If you have any interest in adding You Died to your collection, the 25%-off sale we're running in conjunction with the Soul Arts campaign is a great time to do so. The sale will end on September 13th.

We worked so hard on that first project and it's a profound joy to see it finally reaching a wider audience of Soulsborne fans who are most likely to appreciate it. The Italian printer that helped us make You Died such a beautiful collector's item is the same one we're using for Soul Arts so you'll get a preview of the incredible quality bar that they enable us to hit.

OK, that's all for now. Appreciate you being here...

Reward Unlocked: Soul Arts narration by Vaati
over 2 years ago – Fri, Aug 27, 2021 at 02:21:12 AM

Due the phenomenal success of the Soul Arts campaign, we've had many backers asking about the possibility of stretch goals.

Even though we haven't structured the campaign around a conventional series of unlock thresholds, rest assured we have been putting a great deal of thought into how we can enhance the value of Soul Arts for those who've contributed so generously toward the project.

We shared a custom desktop screensaver adapted from the book's endpaper design via our last project update and today we are excited to announce a more substantial digital bonus...

Vaati will be recording narration for the entirety of Soul Arts

We will be offering this bonus reward free of charge to everybody whose pledge includes a Digital Edition of the book, which covers the vast majority of backers.

Not only will MP3 files be emailed to backers once the book is complete, but Vaati will also be making Soul Arts' narrated entries available via a private YouTube viewing link so you can easily listen whether you're on your phone or at your PC. These videos will feature emotive soundtracks and glimpses of exclusive art that we didn't have space to include in the book.

You can view a sample Vaati created for the the "Imagining Bloodborne II" entry "The Hinterlands" by artist Jonathan Gregory Bick to give you a taste of the concept. Let us know what you think in the comments. We hope you love it.

Thank you so much for your support of Soul Arts and stay tuned for additional Reward Unlocks in the near future.

Update from Vaati on artist compensation
over 2 years ago – Thu, Aug 19, 2021 at 08:12:55 PM

"The Iron Baroness" by Titanilla Pizvor

"Even before the Kickstarter launched, over a hundred artists were compensated for their submissions, and the publisher committed to a free copy for all included.

Now, due to the success of the Soul Arts Kickstarter, bonuses for included artists have been expanded!

Once the layout of Soul Arts is finalised and I am certain of who will be published, I will personally send out a second, more significant bonus payment. Additionally, included artists have been upgraded to a free slipcase edition, courtesy of the publisher.

It's never enough to simply pay in exposure – but I proudly admit it plays a part in this project as well. Every month, I would hear from multiple artists happy that their submission led to a job offer or commission. I think being published in Soul Arts will lead to even more."

"Design Showcase" art print (Kickstarter exclusive)

Fully funded... (You people are crazy)
over 2 years ago – Thu, Aug 19, 2021 at 12:43:40 PM

It's been a little over two hours since the Soul Arts campaign went live and the response has been dizzying.

We hit the €50K funding goal in about 40 minutes (what the) and eclipsed the full 30-day funding total of our debut project You Died a few minutes ago.

We've worked so hard the past few months to lay the groundwork for a book full of art that would be a piece of art in itself – a tribute to the Souls art community that fellow fans of FromSoftware's games would be proud to have in their collection.

Thank you so much for being excited with us and supporting this labour of love. If you have a friend who might be interested in this project, we'd appreciate you spreading the word. Let's see how far we can take this thing.

On behalf of Vaati and the T&F team...
